Child Safety
This event is being held at the Cockburn Youth Centre, which provides services to young people aged 10-24. The EPIC Event is restricted to young people aged 16-24.
The EPIC Team is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and neuro-affirming environment for all attendees. All members of the EPIC Team have active and clear Working with Children Checks and are experienced in working with young people.
Event Safeguards
Dr Lexy Staniland, the Event Organiser, will serve as the designated Child Safety Contact for the Event. Her contact information will be provided to attendees on the day. Attendees will be introduced to the EPIC Team and advised to speak to any Team Member if they have any concerns. Any child-safety concerns will be reported immediately to Lexy.
In addition to the Code of Conduct Policy, the following safeguards will be in place:
All Event Spaces will be supervised by at least one Event Team Member
All attendees will be required to provide emergency contact information
Photos and videos will only be taken with attendees' permission
Any child-safety concerns should be reported immediately to Dr Lexy Staniland, who can be contacted at lexy.staniland@curtin.edu.au.
